Private Residence
Catskill Mountain Region, New York
Situated on a multi-acre wooded hillside, this residence was designed to capture views of the Catskill Mountains in New York. The project sought to utilize durable natural materials, including stone, treated wood paneling, and a resilient metal roof. The frame of the house is constructed with mass timber. Architectural volumes are arranged along a central circulation spine. The staggered positioning of these volumes defines garden spaces at the entry and living room, as well as a dedicated rear porch that opens to a pool and the site’s mountain views. Ground floor spaces are dedicated to living and entertainment, while the four bedrooms on the second level maximize the scenic vistas. The design prioritizes a connection with the natural environment, offering both shelter and views of the Catskill region.
