Living Room Addition

Puerto, Rico

The proposal for this living room addition in Puerto Rico centers on the use of natural-toned materials. A shallow barrel vaulted ceiling serves not only as a structural element but also introduces character and texture to the overall composition. A substantial fireplace acts as the focal point of the space and is conceived not merely as an applied feature, but as a foundational architectural mass that anchors and lends weight to the entire composition. Secondary masses extend out from the exterior perimeter wall allowing for opportunities to place interior plants and decor as well as providing a location for seating.  The furnishing of this living room reflects a thoughtful and considerate curation, blending both vintage and new pieces to create a layered and inviting atmosphere.
